• Are your outdoor cushions waterproof?

  We cushion covers are water-resistant and water-repellent, not fully waterproof. They are designed to repel light rain and moisture but are not intended to be left out during heavy or prolonged rainfall. We recommend removing cushions and storing them indoors or in a covered area during rainy or snowy weather to extend their life and maintain their appearance.

• How do I clean outdoor patio cushions?

  To clean your outdoor cushions, use a soft scrub brush with warm water to gently remove dirt and surface debris. For heavier soiling, a diluted white vinegar solution works well without damaging the fabric. Do not machine wash the cushion covers, as agitation can stress seams and damage the water-resistant coating. Air dry completely before using or storing, and avoid using bleach or harsh detergents that can break down the fabric's protective finish.

• How do I choose the right cushion thickness for my patio furniture?

  Cushion thickness affects both comfort and fit. Classic Accessories offers seating cushions in 2-inch, 3-inch, and 5-inch thicknesses, with thicker options providing more plush support for deep-seat furniture. For back cushions, 3-inch and 4-inch options are available. When choosing thickness, consider the depth of your seat frame and your personal comfort preference. Deeper seat furniture tends to pair better with thicker cushions, while standard chairs and benches typically work well with 2- or 3-inch options.

• Are the cushion covers removable and washable?

  Classic Accessories cushion covers are designed with a zipper for easy removal from the foam insert. While the covers can be removed, we do not recommend machine washing them, as the agitation can damage seams and the water-resistant coating on the fabric. Spot cleaning with warm water and a soft brush is the recommended method for keeping covers looking their best. Always air dry completely before re-inserting the foam.

• How should I store outdoor cushions when not in use?

  For best results, store outdoor cushions indoors or in a weatherproof deck box when not in use, especially during extended periods of rain, snow, or off-season storage. Make sure cushions are clean and fully dry before storing to prevent mold and mildew from developing. If storing foam inserts separately from the covers, keep both in a dry, well-ventilated space to preserve the integrity of the materials.

• Are your cushions mold and mildew resistant?

  Mold and mildew occur when moisture mixes with organic material such as lotions, food particles, and dirt. Our cushions are made from synthetic materials, so they themselves cannot create mold or mildew. We highly recommend removing your cushions and storing them inside during rainy or snowy weather to keep them clean and dry.

• What cushion thicknesses are available?

  We offer the following cushion thicknesses: Seating cushions are available in 2-inch, 3-inch, and 5-inch. Back cushions are available in 3-inch (chaise cushion sets only) and 4-inch. The right thickness for you depends on your furniture style and personal comfort preference.

• When should I insert the foam into the cushion slipcover?

  For ease of installation, we recommend immediately inserting the foam into the cushion slipcover and letting it expand inside the cover. For best results, first review the instruction sheet included with your product for easy step-by-step guidance through the process.

• Where can I find the part number and production code for my cushion?

  The part number and production code (sometimes called tag code) are located on the white product tag sewn onto an interior seam. Cushions have product tags on both the foam and the cushion cover. The cushion cover tag is located at the center seam by the zipper, and the foam tag is located along a seam. Note: Chaise cushion foams have two foam pieces, each with its own product tag.

• Can I leave my cushions on my patio furniture when it rains?

  Our cushion covers are water-resistant and water-repellent, not waterproof, so we do not recommend leaving them outside during rainy or snowy weather. We highly recommend removing your cushions and bringing them inside or storing them in a protected area to keep them clean, dry, and in the best condition for as long as possible.

• Can I cover my patio furniture with cushions still on?

  We recommend removing your cushions while using our patio furniture covers and following your furniture manufacturer's care instructions. If you choose to cover furniture with the cushions on, keep in mind that even a waterproof cover cannot prevent condensation - a natural occurrence caused by humidity and dew point. When condensation mixes with organic material it can cause mold and mildew to form on the cushions over time.
